Collection contains one lithograph map by W.C. Rogers and Co. for Joseph Shannon's Manual. The map depicts the upper part of Manhattan, New York City, above 88th street and illustrates the battle of Harlem Heights that took place on September 16, 1776 during the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783).

Maps of Samuel Wylie Crawford

This collection consists of two maps belonging to Union Brigadier General Samuel Wylie Crawford: a Denis Callahan copy of an unfinished map of the military departments of North-eastern Virginia with roads, railroads, turnpikes, and villages indicated (1861) and a military map titled NE Virginia showing all features of terrain including homes (undated). Each map has Crawford's name on it.

John Millington Papers

Papers including correspondence concerning Millington's experiences as directing engineer of the Anglo-Mexican Mining Association, as professor at College of William and Mary where he lived in the Wythe House, as professor at University of Mississippi, and at Memphis Medical College. Includes diaries covering 1832, 1835, and 1861-1867; letters of his family members; and Blankenship family land records and letters concerning the Spanish-American War.

This collection contains correspondence, newsclippings, research notes, and other material related to the attempt to classify the Peacock Hill neighborhood of Williamsburg, Virginia a historic landmark. Also included are maps of the neighborhood as well as a copy of the signed petition for Colonial Williamsburg to build townhomes that compliment, not replace, the homes in the Peacock Hill neighborhood. Most of the material is from 1982.

Scope and Contents The Plan de la ville et environs de Williamsburg en Virginie, America (a 11 mai 1782, levé au pas), also known as the Frenchman's Map is a map of Williamsburg dated May 11, 1782. It was drafted by an unknown Frenchman probably stationed with Rochambeau's army. Its detail suggests perhaps a billeting map for the French army following the battle of Yorktown. Harry and Anna Saxer Papers
